Surveys for Model Service Elements
Hi all,
To get this project rolling, I have created two short surveys about the information you include in RFPs (if you are on the client side of the industry) or request from potential clients looking for bids (if you are on the LSP side):
- For Translation Service Providers: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/CWB9D5J?
- For Buyers of Translation Services: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/CSLN2L9?
These surveys should take only a few minutes to complete, but will assist us in understanding what information companies currently include in the bidding phase of the translation business relationship. This information will help us assess the state of the art in our industry.
Note that the particular items listed in this survey are taken from the forthcoming ISO/TS 11669, a new technical specification from ISO that deals specifically with guidance for obtaining translation.
Best regards,
Arle

Hi all,
I've moved some of the group desription to this location to resolve some problems with the length of the listing.
Current Activities. At this point in the project, we need your help in two areas: (1) developing a sample process model for document localization, and (2) reviewing the list of terms and activities to be defined and adding your suggestions to the list. For both of these activities, feel free to jump in and start editing and adding your notes.
We are also interested in collecting lists of localization workflow/process steps. Terminology aspects of this project are being managed using a custom installation of TermWeb provided by Interverbum Technologies.

Lists of Workflow/Process Steps
As we get the Model Service Elements Project off the ground, we are particularly interested in any documentation of localization workflow/process steps you may be able to share. By comparing these lists we will be able to discover commonalities and differences in processes and identify areas that can be described by the project. These lists of steps can be as detailed or broad as you happen to have them. If you would like to contribute any such lists through mechanisms other than this group, please contact Arle Lommel to arrange this contribution.
Lists can be posted in the Resources section of this group, either as files or as “Live docs.” Project staff will consolidate these contributions into an online document for review by the group.
